Humanitarian Mine Action Field Medic Specialist (Aleppo)

About the role

The Humanitarian Mine Action Field Medic Specialist provides essential medical support to de‑mining clearance teams operating in Aleppo and other parts of Syria. Working in a high‑risk environment, the medic ensures the health, safety and rapid casualty care of staff engaged in humanitarian mine‑action activities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site medical support to humanitarian mine‑action clearance teams in Aleppo and other areas of Syria as required.
• Deliver emergency medical response, preventive care and routine health monitoring for staff operating in hazardous environments.
• Conduct CASEVAC (casualty evacuation) operations to ensure safe and efficient transport of injured personnel.
• Inspect and maintain the field ambulance, its fittings, medical equipment, supplies and medications on a regular basis.
• Coordinate with team leaders to assess health risks and implement medical safety protocols.

Required profile

• Professional medical qualification (e.g., paramedic, emergency medical technician, or equivalent).
• Experience working in conflict‑affected or humanitarian settings, preferably with mine‑action or de‑mining teams.
• Ability to operate independently in remote and insecure locations.
• Physical fitness to handle field conditions and assist in casualty evacuation.
