Medical Logistics Officer

About the role

The Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) is recruiting a Medical Logistics Officer based in Kudsaya Suburb. The role supports the central medical warehouse operations managed by SARC, covering the reception of drugs and medical equipment, inspection and quality control, stock management, dispatch arrangements for distribution and manual inventory control. The position reports to the SARC Medical Logistics Officer at headquarters.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate field medical warehouse quality (consumption, orders, inventory, expiry dates) with the headquarters Medical Logistics Officer and health programme coordinators.
• Process dispatch requisitions for drugs, consumables and medical materials according to field needs and Syrian medical standards.
• Maintain warehousing, receiving and distribution operations in coordination with the headquarters Medical Department.
• Establish and monitor security procedures and protocols for warehouse operations and contents.
• Control inventory levels through physical counts and reconciliation with the data storage system.
• Help plan, organise and maintain stores and warehouses to Federation standards, and provide timely stock reports to the headquarters Logistics Officer.
• Support quality assurance procedures and the implementation of Medical Warehouse SOPs.
• Assist the Medical Logistics Officer with distribution and loading plans and approvals for goods movements.
• Keep accurate stock records and perform other duties assigned by the line manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy.
• At least 2 years of pharmacy experience; preferred 1 year in medical warehouse operations.
• Preferred: certification in inventory control management and in medical logistics, and experience in contracting and administration.
• Good written and spoken Arabic and English, able to produce reports in both languages.
• Ability to work independently on computers (Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Lotus).
