Palliative Care Expert for Syrian Ministry of Health

About the role

NTU International is seeking a Key Expert – Palliative Care Expert (Category II) to provide technical assistance to the Syrian Ministry of Health. The assignment supports institutional strengthening, governance, and the integration of palliative‑care considerations within oncology services.

Key responsibilities

• Strengthen oncology‑related clinical protocols, medication safety, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Design monitoring frameworks, quality indicators, and evaluation tools for palliative‑care service delivery.
• Develop and deliver structured clinical training for oncology teams on protocol implementation, treatment sequencing, and toxicity management.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Public Health, Palliative Medicine, Nursing or related field; medical degree with specialization in palliative care preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of clinical or technical experience in medical oncology, including development or revision of national or institutional chemotherapy protocols.
• Familiarity with international cancer treatment guidelines (WHO, NCCN, ESMO) and experience adapting them to resource‑constrained settings.
• Professional experience in the MENA region or post‑conflict health systems is a strong asset.

• Pharmacovigilance and medication‑safety system design for chemotherapy.
