Project Director – Airport EPC

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the delivery of a large‑scale Airport EPC project in Syria. The role carries overall responsibility for project execution, providing executive leadership across engineering, procurement, construction, project controls, commercial, QA/QC, HSE, commissioning and handover.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the project execution strategy for both airside and landside works.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams covering Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Project Controls, Commercial, QA/QC and HSE.
• Drive programme, cost, quality and HSE performance while managing critical long‑lead airport systems.
• Oversee subcontractor and specialist contractor performance, including contractual variations and claims.
• Coordinate with client, consultants, aviation authorities and government stakeholders.
• Manage project risks, interfaces, testing, commissioning, operational readiness and final handover.

Required profile

• 20+ years of construction/project management experience, including senior roles such as Project Director or Construction Director.
• Proven delivery of major or mega‑scale airport EPC projects with strong airside and landside expertise.
• Extensive experience managing large multidisciplinary teams and specialist contractors.
• Demonstrated stakeholder management with clients, consultants, and aviation authorities.

• Airfield infrastructure (runways, taxiways, aprons, aircraft stands, pavements, drainage).
• Airport terminal construction, utilities and MEP systems.
• Specialist aviation systems integration.
• EPC/EPIC main‑contractor delivery methodology.
• Project controls, commercial management and HSE compliance.
