Protection Technical Advisor

About the role

The Protection Technical Advisor will provide strategic and technical leadership for protection, child protection, gender and GBV interventions within World Vision’s Syria response. The role ensures that programmes are survivor‑centred, inclusive and aligned with international standards and the Syria Strategic Implementation Plan.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation and quality assurance of protection, child protection, gender and GBV activities across sectors such as Health, WASH, Shelter, Livelihoods, Education and MHPSS.
• Ensure compliance with IASC guidelines, the Core Humanitarian Standard, PSEA, disability inclusion and data‑protection requirements.
• Develop high‑quality prevention and empowerment activities for women and girls and oversee survivor‑centred GBV response services.
• Provide technical guidance on data protection, ethical case management and safeguarding, ensuring confidentiality and survivor safety.
• Support the MEAL team with monitoring, evaluation and feedback mechanisms, and contribute to proposal writing and costing of protection interventions.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in humanitarian protection, child protection and GBV programming.
• Strong understanding of international protection standards, IASC guidelines and the Core Humanitarian Standard.
• Ability to work collaboratively with sector teams, senior management and external donors.
