Response Director, Syria Response

About the role

World Vision is seeking a senior humanitarian leader to direct its response efforts across Syria, Jordan, and emerging opportunities in Turkey. The Response Director will shape strategy, drive execution, and ensure high‑impact, coordinated assistance for vulnerable children and families in a complex emergency environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Syria Response strategy aligned with World Vision’s global vision and the FY27‑28 plan.
• Provide strategic oversight for programmes in Syria, Jordan and monitor the context in Turkey.
• Lead the Syria Response Senior Leadership Team, fostering collaboration, integration and accountability.
• Manage enterprise risk, business continuity planning and ensure compliance with World Vision’s Disaster Management Standards.
• Oversee cost recovery, grant management and secure diversified funding to support the response.
• Engage and influence external stakeholders, including donors, government agencies and partner organisations.
• Monitor programme quality, scale and operational efficiency, unlocking cross‑border synergies.

Required profile

• Proven track record leading large‑scale humanitarian or disaster‑response programmes.
• Strategic vision combined with strong execution capabilities.
• Experience managing multi‑country portfolios and senior leadership teams.
• Excellent partnership, communication and risk‑leadership skills.
• Commitment to World Vision’s Christian values and child‑focused mission.
