Senior Qualitative Researcher / Reintegration Specialist

About the role

The Senior Qualitative Researcher / Reintegration Specialist will work on‑site in Homs to design and lead qualitative studies that inform reintegration programmes and policy. This temporary position combines rigorous research, field coordination and capacity‑building activities within a sustainability‑focused consultancy.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement qualitative research tools such as in‑depth interviews, focus groups and field observations.
• Collect, code and analyse data to generate thematic insights on community needs and reintegration dynamics.
• Produce clear reports and actionable recommendations for programme design and policy makers.
• Coordinate with local authorities, NGOs and community groups to ensure ethical and culturally sensitive fieldwork.
• Support case management and follow‑up activities with beneficiaries.
• Mentor junior team members and deliver training on qualitative methods and reintegration best practices.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in social sciences, psychology, sociology, development studies or a related field (preferred).
• Proven experience in qualitative research and in reintegration, social cohesion or community‑based programmes in complex or post‑conflict settings.
• Fluency in Arabic and strong proficiency in English for documentation and reporting.
• Ability to work independently on‑site, manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
