Field Service Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Field Service Engineer to provide technical support for our biomedical equipment. The role involves installing, demonstrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting devices across assigned territories, while ensuring high customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Become highly knowledgeable about company equipment and attend training sessions.
• Install and demonstrate equipment for customers and assist the Territory Manager as needed.
• Respond promptly to customer calls regarding repair, maintenance, and service requests.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance according to contract cycles and complete detailed service reports.
• Provide on‑site technical support, troubleshooting, and minor maintenance; refer major issues to the Chief Engineer.
• Conduct training sessions, wet‑lab demonstrations, and support surgeries when required.
• Maintain professional image, manage equipment and tools, and handle customer complaints professionally.
• Stay informed about competitive products, their specifications, pricing, and market offers.
• Mitigate risk, ensure compliance, and evaluate environmental impact of field activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related field (MBA is a plus).
• 1 to 3 years of field service experience, preferably in the ophthalmology sector.
• Proven ability to travel frequently and work flexibly in various locations.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients, doctors, and stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Equipment installation and preventive maintenance.

• Knowledge of ophthalmology equipment and procedures.
