MEAL Officer

About the role

The Independent Doctors Association (IDA) is seeking a Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Officer to support its health and humanitarian programmes in Aleppo, Syria. The role will work closely with the MEAL Senior Officer to ensure that data collection, analysis and reporting are carried out effectively and in line with IDA’s standards.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate regularly with the MEAL Senior Officer regarding work plans, field locations and the MEAL tools to be used.
• Integrate gender, protection, environmental and other cross‑cutting considerations into data collection and analysis processes.
• Support the implementation of monitoring and evaluation activities across health, nutrition and WASH projects.
• Assist in preparing routine and ad‑hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Ability to work collaboratively with senior MEAL staff and field teams.
• Awareness of gender, protection and environmental issues in humanitarian data management.
• Commitment to IDA’s mission of providing medical assistance regardless of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.
