OSS & Network Systems Architect

About the role

We are seeking a senior OSS & Network Systems Architect to lead the design and implementation of the operational support systems for a new greenfield fibre network operator in Syria. The role will be based on‑site in Damascus and will span approximately six months, covering strategy, architecture, procurement scope, and implementation roadmap.

Key responsibilities

• Define the OSS vision, strategy, and target operating principles.
• Identify required OSS capabilities for launch and future operations.
• Design the target OSS architecture using TM Forum ODA and eTOM principles.
• Specify architectures for network inventory, service inventory, fulfilment, assurance, activation, monitoring, workforce management, and ITSM.
• Define integration requirements between OSS, BSS, ERP, network elements, and external partners, including APIs, orchestration, event‑driven integration, and service workflows.
• Lead requirements workshops with technical and operational stakeholders.
• Prepare RFIs, RFPs, specifications, evaluation criteria, SLAs, KPIs, and acceptance criteria.
• Support vendor evaluations, technical assessments, and solution demonstrations.
• Define the OSS operating model, governance processes, and performance framework.
• Establish ITSM processes for incident, problem, change, and request management.

Required profile

• Strong experience in OSS architecture within fixed, fibre, wholesale or telecommunications environments.
• Deep knowledge of inventory, fulfilment, assurance, activation, monitoring, and service‑management platforms.
• Proven ability to design integrations between OSS, BSS, ERP, network systems and third‑party platforms.
• Experience preparing RFP documentation and participating in vendor‑selection activities.
• Previous involvement in a greenfield operator launch is highly desirable.
