Technical Assistant Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Technical Assistant Engineer to support our Engineering, Projects and Maintenance teams in Damascus. The role focuses on creating and updating AutoCAD plant layouts, managing technical documentation, and assisting in the design and reverse engineering of mechanical parts for food‑grade production and packaging lines.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and modify detailed engineering drawings and plant layouts using AutoCAD.
• Update production line, piping, and utility routing layouts (water, steam, compressed air) to accommodate plant expansions.
• Ensure layouts comply with food safety, GMP and HACCP requirements to prevent cross‑contamination.
• Measure, draft and produce precise 2D and 3D drawings for worn‑out or custom spare parts.
• Specify appropriate food‑grade materials such as stainless steel 316L, Teflon and food‑safe plastics.
• Organise, archive and control revisions of machinery manuals, catalogs, schematics and technical documents.
• Draft and manage professional technical correspondence with international machine manufacturers.
• Prepare RFQs, review technical data sheets and verify compatibility of spare parts or equipment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Production, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering.
• 2–4 years of hands‑on experience in engineering design and technical office management.
• Experience in Food & Beverage, Pharmaceuticals or FMCG sectors is preferred.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• AutoCAD (high proficiency).
• 3D modelling software such as SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor.
• 2D/3D technical drawing and reverse‑engineering.
• Technical documentation control and RFQ preparation.
