About the role
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is expanding its operations in Syria and seeks an Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) Specialist to embed accountability, participation and feedback mechanisms across humanitarian, development and nexus programmes.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and institutionalise mission‑wide AAP systems, procedures and operational guidance.
- Embed AAP principles throughout programme design, implementation, monitoring and coordination.
- Co‑chair the national AAP Working Group and foster collaboration among UN agencies, NGOs, civil society, local authorities and community actors.
- Design, develop and implement a sustainable, data‑driven collective complaints and feedback mechanism.
- Analyse feedback, perception and referral data to inform programme quality and decision‑making.
- Provide mentoring and capacity‑building support to IOM staff and partner organisations.
Required profile
- Proven experience in humanitarian or development contexts, focusing on accountability, participation and community engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to design and manage feedback or complaints mechanisms.
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting feedback and referral data.
- Experience coordinating multi‑stakeholder working groups and fostering inter‑agency collaboration.
- Ability to deliver capacity‑building and mentoring activities.
