Accountant

About the role

The office needs an accountant who prepares its financial statements and keeps the accounting books up to date. The role covers bookkeeping, payroll support, reconciliations, tax reporting and financial analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Bookkeeping: record daily transactions with supporting documents, enter expenses, bank deposits and transfers into the accounting software, file documents, and reconcile third-party accounts.
• Payroll and payables: support monthly payroll according to local legal requirements, follow up contracts and ensure payments are made on time.
• Tax and assets: help prepare income, VAT and social security reports and keep asset records, including depreciation calculations.
• Petty cash: manage office petty cash against approved payments and keep it at the approved level.
• Financial statements: post transactions between software modules, reconcile bank, petty cash and supplier accounts, and help prepare the income statement, balance sheet, cost-per-item and turnover reports.
• Other: submit a daily activity report, give recommendations on resource use, and comply with the Medicals International quality management system (ISO 9001:2008).

Required profile

• Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis on accounting, or equivalent; an MBA or financial accreditation is a plus.
• 1-2 years of professional experience.
• Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Basic knowledge of banking operations and of the company's products and procedures.
• Organized and accurate.
