Automation & AIOps SME

About the role

We are seeking an Automation & AIOps Subject Matter Expert to lead the design and implementation of our automation and AIOps framework for a Managed Service Provider (MSP). Based on‑site in Damascus, the role will provide deep technical expertise from specification development through Day‑1 launch and onward operational oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed automation specifications covering fault detection, event correlation, ticket creation and remediation workflows.
• Define AIOps technical specifications, including anomaly detection models, training data requirements and QoS degradation prediction use cases.
• Specify integration requirements between AIOps, NMS, SIEM, ITSM, IT monitoring and OSS/BSS systems.
• Create automation governance documentation such as change‑control procedures, testing frameworks and rollback plans.
• Support the Automation Lead in skill‑gap analysis, training content creation and participate in testing and acceptance activities.
• Design KPI measurement methodology for automation effectiveness and contribute to operational acceptance testing.
• Review and validate MSP automation workflow changes, assess model performance and support continual service improvement.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in network operations, automation engineering or AI/ML applied to operations.
• Proven expertise with AIOps platforms, automation tools and network analytics in NOC or SOC environments.
• Strong knowledge of integration patterns among AIOps, NMS, SIEM and OSS/BSS.
• Experience in wholesale or carrier environments is a plus.
• Analytical, data‑driven mindset with ability to produce detailed technical specifications.
