Enterprise Finance & Credit Manager

About the role

The Enterprise Finance & Credit Manager leads credit operations and portfolio management for Near East Foundation’s enterprise financing programmes in Syria. Reporting to the Country Director, the role combines strategic oversight of credit risk, fund liquidity and product performance with day‑to‑day loan management to ensure sustainable impact.

Key responsibilities

• Track and analyse portfolio performance indicators such as repayment rates, portfolio at risk, default/write‑off rates and yield.
• Oversee fund liquidity and revolving fund health through cash‑flow modelling and maintaining liquidity buffers.
• Advise on portfolio composition, sectoral and geographic diversification and risk mitigation.
• Develop and deliver performance dashboards and reports for internal leadership and donors.
• Manage end‑to‑end credit operations across Syria, including loan origination, disbursement, repayment monitoring, restructuring and compliance.
• Review and approve loan applications in line with organisational policy and regulatory standards.
• Identify operational gaps and improve procedures to increase efficiency and reduce risk.
• Design and implement tailored loan envelopes aligned with programme needs and donor expectations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in enterprise finance, credit management or investment environments.
• Strong understanding of credit risk, portfolio management and fund liquidity.
• Experience working with donor‑funded programmes and ensuring compliance.
• Ability to coordinate across finance, operations and programme teams.
