Fiber Network Planner – Damascus Based

About the role

The Fiber Network Planner will be based in Damascus and will lead the design and quality assurance of outside‑plant (OSP) civil and fiber infrastructure projects. The role ensures that survey data is validated, designs are compliant with standards, and documentation is ready for implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate site survey reports for civil and fiber infrastructure.
• Analyse GIS records, route information and existing infrastructure to identify design constraints.
• Develop detailed civil and fiber network designs, including routes, ducts, manholes and handholes.
• Produce engineering drawings, construction plans and Bill of Quantities using QGIS, ArcGIS, AutoCAD or similar tools.
• Coordinate with survey, implementation, operations teams and contractors to confirm design feasibility.
• Maintain up‑to‑date design documentation, approvals and as‑built records.
• Identify and mitigate design risks such as route conflicts or constructability issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years of telecom experience, with at least 5 years in OSP design and engineering.
• Strong knowledge of OSP civil and fiber infrastructure standards and best practices.
