Head of Mission Syria (M/F)

About the role

The Head of Mission Syria will provide overall leadership and strategic direction for Secours Islamique France (SIF) operations in the Syrian Arab Republic. Reporting to the DESK Manager, this senior position ensures that programmes are effectively developed, implemented and adapted to the evolving humanitarian context.

Key responsibilities

• Lead programme development, implementation and team management across all SIF activities in Syria.
• Ensure full compliance with SIF policies, procedures, security standards and operational quality requirements.
• Coordinate operations to respond to changing humanitarian needs and maintain effective collaboration among staff and partners.
• Represent SIF with local authorities, donors and key stakeholders, strengthening relationships and advocacy.
• Oversee accountability mechanisms and reporting to maintain transparency and donor confidence.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior leadership or mission management within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Ability to provide strategic direction and adapt programmes to a complex, volatile environment.
• Strong understanding of compliance, security and operational quality standards.
• Excellent representation skills for interaction with authorities, donors and partners.
