IP/MPLS, IXP & IGW Designer (Damascus)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced IP/MPLS, IXP & IGW Designer to lead the design of a high‑performance core network, Internet Exchange Point and International Gateway for a major project based in Damascus. The role involves creating scalable, resilient architectures that meet multi‑vendor interoperability and telecom standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design MPLS backbone solutions including BGP, IS‑IS/OSPF, Segment Routing, MPLS‑TE and L2/L3 VPN services.
• Develop high‑level and low‑level designs for IP/MPLS core network domains, QoS architecture and traffic engineering models.
• Define EVPN, multicast and service‑chaining architectures on the MPLS backbone.
• Design IXP infrastructure, peering fabric, VLAN segmentation and routing policies.
• Coordinate peering relationships with international carriers and content providers.
• Design International Gateway architecture, redundancy mechanisms and DDoS protection.
• Perform routing topology studies, traffic flow analysis, capacity planning and resilience assessments.
• Produce comprehensive HLD, LLD, topology diagrams and technical documentation.
• Participate in design reviews, validate vendor submissions and support implementation teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Network Engineering or Computer Science.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in IP/MPLS core network design and implementation.
• Strong knowledge of BGP, IS‑IS, OSPF, Segment Routing, EVPN and QoS architectures.
• Hands‑on experience with IXP and International Gateway design.
• Proven ability to work with multi‑vendor environments and ensure interoperability.
