MEAL Assistant – Monitoring & Evaluation Support

About the role

The MEAL Assistant will support the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) function of MedGlobal in Deir Ez‑Zor, Syria. Working under the Senior MEAL Officer, the role focuses on field monitoring, data collection, cleaning and reporting to ensure high‑quality evidence for programme decisions and accountability to affected populations. The position is full‑time and contributes to evidence‑based programming and accountability to beneficiaries.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine field visits to project sites to monitor implementation progress, verify activity quality and assess compliance with project plans and standards.
• Support data collection using surveys, checklists and interviews, ensuring adherence to MEAL protocols and ethical standards.
• Engage with community members, stakeholders and partners during visits to gather relevant information.
• Assist in cleaning and organizing collected data and preparing regular reports for the MEAL team.
• Document field observations and provide feedback to project teams.
• Prepare and submit routine monitoring reports to the MEAL Coordinator.

Required profile

• Works under direct supervision of the Senior MEAL Officer.
