MEAL Officer – Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning

About the role

The MEAL Officer will implement and monitor project activities, collect data, and ensure that Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) systems operate effectively across the programme. This position supports evidence‑based decision‑making and donor compliance for an EU/NDICI‑funded action.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain data collection tools and indicator‑tracking systems aligned with the project logframe.
• Conduct regular field‑level monitoring visits and compile monitoring reports for the National Representative and Programme Manager.
• Support the Editorial Coordinator with editorial analyses and data interpretation.
• Coordinate with internal teams (Programme Manager, Editorial Coordinator, Support Services Coordinator) and external partners, including Monitoring, Evaluation and Project Support Officers and external evaluators.
• Ensure compliance with EU/NDICI donor requirements and contribute to evidence‑based reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience in monitoring and evaluation within humanitarian or development projects.
• Familiarity with EU/NDICI donor frameworks and reporting standards.
• Ability to work under the supervision of the National Representative and the FH MEAL Manager (HQ, Lausanne).
• Strong analytical skills to translate field data into actionable insights.
