About the role
The Independent Doctors Association is seeking a Psychosocial Support Worker to join its humanitarian health team in the Northern Idlib countryside of Syria. The role focuses on delivering individual, group and community‑based psychosocial support (PSS) to displaced persons and host communities affected by conflict.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and implement individual, group and community‑based psychosocial support (PSS) activities in safe and inclusive spaces.
- Identify individuals with psychosocial needs and provide basic counseling, active listening and emotional support.
- Collaborate with local health facilities and community partners to ensure coordinated delivery of PSS services.
Required profile
- Experience or training in psychosocial support, counseling or related humanitarian work.
- Ability to work with displaced populations and host communities in conflict‑affected settings.
- Strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity.
