About the role
Oxfam is seeking a Senior Logistics & Supply Chain Officer to lead procurement and logistics activities across Syria. The role ensures that all procurement processes comply with Oxfam policies and donor requirements, while supporting partners and internal teams to deliver humanitarian programmes efficiently.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the end‑to‑end procurement cycle, from request receipt to contract award, ensuring timely and compliant delivery.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, partners and internal stakeholders, upholding Oxfam’s values of empowerment, accountability and inclusion.
- Produce and disseminate regular procurement reports, using KPIs and other tools to monitor performance and identify risks.
- Lead capacity‑building initiatives for partner organisations, including assessments, training and monitoring of procurement practices.
- Collaborate with project managers and the logistics team to design supply structures, develop procurement plans and support re‑planning of supply activities throughout project cycles.
- Review and update procurement job descriptions, role profiles and standard operating procedures.
Required profile
- Demonstrated experience in logistics, supply chain or procurement within a humanitarian or development context.
- Strong people‑management skills, with experience supervising and developing a team.
- Excellent analytical abilities to assess processes, risks and improvement opportunities.
- Commitment to Oxfam’s mission and feminist principles, with a focus on inclusion and accountability.
Required skills
- Knowledge of procurement regulations, donor compliance and logistics best practices.
- Proficiency in using procurement and logistics management tools and reporting systems.
- Ability to develop and deliver training on procurement procedures.
