Technical Facilities Design Manager (Damascus)

About the role

We are seeking a Technical Facilities Design Manager based in Damascus to lead the end‑to‑end design and engineering of telecom infrastructure facilities, including technical buildings, data centres, equipment rooms and associated power, HVAC and civil works. The role ensures that all designs are compliant, resilient and ready for future technology deployments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design of technical buildings, equipment rooms, data centres and network hosting facilities from concept to detailed engineering.
• Develop and review High‑Level Designs (HLD) and Low‑Level Designs (LLD) for all facility systems.
• Define civil, structural and cable routing requirements, including duct banks, trenches and equipment foundations.
• Design AC/DC power distribution, UPS, battery bank and generator sizing, ensuring N+1/2N redundancy.
• Create HVAC and precision cooling solutions, perform thermal load calculations and size cooling capacity.
• Specify grounding, bonding and electro‑static discharge protection measures.
• Design cable management, containment and routing infrastructure.
• Own design governance, review and approve drawings, MEP integration models and vendor submissions.
• Lead technical design review boards and assess design risks.
• Participate in RFI/RFP technical assessments and vendor evaluations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in telecom facility design or related engineering discipline.
• Strong knowledge of international standards such as TIA/EIA, ASHRAE and IEC.
• Ability to manage multi‑disciplinary design teams and coordinate with network domain engineers.
• Excellent analytical skills for power capacity planning and thermal analysis.
