MEAL Officer – Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council is seeking a MEAL Officer to support the monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning functions of its Syria programmes. The role will be based in the Hama/Homs area and will involve regular field visits to ensure data quality and programme compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct monitoring visits to project sites, dedicating at least 40% of time to field activities.
• Support programme teams in designing data‑collection tools, gathering information and analysing results.
• Collect, manage and report M&E data from field activities to ensure accountability and programme quality.
• Prepare regular reports for the MEAL Manager and contribute to learning products.
• Assist in the development and implementation of the MEAL strategy in line with DRC standards.

Required profile

• Experience in monitoring, evaluation, accountability or learning within humanitarian or development programmes.
• Ability to work in a conflict‑affected environment and travel frequently to field sites.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
