National Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a National Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to support its mission in Syria. Reporting to the Chief of Mission and the Head of Partnerships and Programme Support, the officer will strengthen the monitoring and evaluation framework for IOM projects and programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Support all aspects of project and programme monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
• Develop, implement and maintain the M&E system to ensure data quality and timely analysis.
• Collect, analyse and synthesize data to produce actionable insights and learning products.
• Facilitate continuous improvement of programmes based on evaluation findings.
• Coordinate with regional M&E officers, headquarters units and relevant partners.
• Provide capacity‑building support, including designing and delivering training on M&E tools and processes.
• Liaise with governmental, diplomatic and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and compliance.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in International Relations, Political or Social Sciences, Business/Public Administration, Law or a related field with at least two years of relevant experience, OR a university degree in the same fields with four years of experience.
• Proven experience in project/strategy conceptualisation, development, monitoring, reporting and evaluation.
• Experience designing and delivering capacity‑building activities.
• Experience working with governmental and diplomatic partners.
