CSA Designer (Civil / Structural / Architectural)

About the role

The CSA Designer will act as the independent technical reviewer for civil, structural and architectural design deliverables of data‑center facilities. Based on‑site in Damascus Governorate, the role supports the Project Management Consultant (PMC) by ensuring all designs are code‑compliant, constructible and aligned with the project brief.

Key responsibilities

• Review and assess design submissions from concept through Issued for Construction (IFC) and shop drawings, providing actionable comments within agreed timeframes.
• Validate structural packages – foundations, slabs, steel and concrete systems, connection details, and calculations for seismic and raised‑floor loads.
• Evaluate architectural packages – floor plans, elevations, façade details, finishes schedules, and raised‑floor layouts for functional compliance.
• Check civil packages – site grading, drainage, retaining structures, utility trench layouts, and coordination with building footprints.
• Confirm that structural and architectural designs accommodate MEP and ICT/ELV requirements, including plant rooms, equipment pads, penetrations and cable‑tray supports.
• Review BIM models, verify Level of Development (LOD), and ensure clash detection is resolved before IFC issue.
• Track review comments, assess contractor responses, and maintain a live register of open and closed technical issues.
• Participate in design review meetings, coordination workshops and BIM sessions as the PMC’s CSA technical representative.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or Architecture.
• 8–12 years of engineering or design experience, preferably on data‑center or high‑tech facilities.
• Proven ability to perform independent technical reviews and ensure code compliance.
