Logistics Specialist

About the role

The Logistics Specialist coordinates the safe, timely and cost‑effective movement of equipment, spare parts and supplies for ADES Production operations in Syria. The role involves planning transport, managing shipping and customs documentation, tracking deliveries and collaborating with logistics partners and internal teams to maintain operational readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Validate transport requests, set priorities, dates and cargo readiness, and select optimal routes, modes and consolidation opportunities.
• Coordinate freight forwarders, transporters, customs brokers, suppliers and internal teams to ensure on‑time delivery of materials and equipment.
• Prepare and verify shipping and customs documents, ensuring compliance with transport, QHSSE and local regulations.
• Track shipments from collection to delivery, provide status updates and resolve delays, damages, shortages or documentation issues.
• Obtain freight quotations, validate invoices against agreed rates and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Maintain system records and KPIs covering on‑time delivery, lead time, shipment cost, compliance and vendor performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field.
• 3‑5 years of logistics, freight‑forwarding, import/export or customs experience, preferably in oil & gas or energy.
• Practical knowledge of land, air and sea transport, shipping documents and customs clearance; experience in Syria is an advantage.
• Experience coordinating freight forwarders, customs brokers, transport vendors and operational stakeholders.
• Fluency in Arabic and English with strong attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
